Manila has grown in population in the last century. By 2020, the city is aspected to have 20 million occupants. Manila poverty rate in 2016 is at a high of 26.3% of the population; many are children. With more development rising in Manila, whole communities in poverty are evicted from their makeshift homes to live on the streets or city dump sites. Without any aid from the Philippine Government, the affected population is left to suffer and live in inhumane conditions. Small groups of activist and Workers Unions are fighting to save what little they can from this growing city.
